American mezzo-soprano Bridget Skaggs's performances have been acclaimed across the U.S. and Europe in opera, concert, and chamber music.  As a young artist with Opera Theater of Pittsburgh Ms. Skaggs sang Charlotte in A Little Night Music, Darléne in the World Premiere of Night Caps International, and covered the Voice of Antonia's Mother in Les Contes d'Hoffmann.  She is a two-time recipient of the Vocal Chamber Music Fellowship with Collaborative Artis Institute of Chicago, an intensive art song and chamber music training program. 

Chicago opera credits include Tangolita in Ball at the Savoy with Chicago Folks Operetta, Quickly in Verdi's Falstaff with /kor/ Productions, and scenes as the title role in Carmen with Lake Forest Civic Orchestra.  In 2015 she toured Europe with Blue Lake International as soloist on Anton Bruckner's Te Deum, a performance which was broadcast on both Bavarian and American public radio.  She has been a two-time festival soloist at Baroque on Beaver in Beaver Island, Michigan, where she sang Bach's Magnificat and Cantata 147, Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben. 

Ms. Skaggs takes pleasure in performing contemporary composers' works as well.  She recently sang Juliana Hall's song cycle for mezzo-soprano and cello One Art with CHAI Collaborative, the World Premiere as Narrator of Katarzyna Brochocka's one act opera Happy Garden of Life with Project 21, and numerous art song and chamber works as a founder of the Chicago vocal quartet Fourth Coast Ensemble. 

A native of Dallas, Texas, she holds a Masters degree from Oklahoma City University, where operatic credits include Flora in La Traviata, Prince Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus, and Secretary in The Consul.
